You might wonder why I would ask a question like this. Well I will tell you the reason that I would love to know your answer to this question. I would like to see what you think your favorite celebrity could do to help make the world a better place. Before you answer this question I want you to know who I would like to meet and why?
Anyone who knows me and knows me well would tell you that I would love to meet EMINEM, but not everyone would be able to tell you why. The reason I would love to meet EMINEM, let me correct myself the REASONS I would love to meet EMINEM. First of all he is a genius and anyone who would like to say otherwise, I would be more than happy to prove that to them that he is. Anyone who can rhyme the way he does, so fast, so clear and words that no one else would ever even imagine rhyming he can. However it is not because of his awesome rhymes and beats that I would like to meet him. I want to tell you how I think EMINEM could help make this world a better place. We all know what is happening in the world today prescription drug addiction, drug addiction, bullying, people suffering from disorders, Trichotillomania and much more. At least two of the things that I mentioned, EMEINEM has overcome - look where he is today. If anyone can teach us anything about the road to recovery it is him.
When he first hit the main stream music industry people were all over him saying he is racist, homophobic, a women hater, drug addict, violent and so much more. So instead of listening to what he was actually saying he was painted as being a bad influence on our kids. If they actually took the time to listen to his lyrics from his first CD to last CD, they would be blown away at what society can learn from him. He is the King of Hip Hop, Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll and Michael Jackson was the King of Pop. He is the only king who has pulled through his drug addiction, and made it public about his struggle and how almost gave up and died. You know who has helped him out through his recovery?? Elton John! (Sorry who’s homophobic??) just goes to prove how wrong everyone was about him. His last album Recovery is the most amazing thing I have heard in a long time. EMINEM shares his struggles with us through his lyrics and reaches out to help others who are facing the same thing. I went to see him in at Comerica Park and it was amazing and inspiring when he performed Not Afraid. You could see nothing but raw emotion in his face because that song clearly meant so much to him. That song is so powerful, whatever you are dealing with in life just know “you can do anything you set your mind too”!
EMINEM was also a victim of bullying; he switched schools so often that whenever he went to a different school he would get beat up. Now look at him has achieved his life dream and you know why? Because he never gave up! He is now the most famous rapper in the world; he achieved what everyone said he would never do. Once he finally made it there were still so many obstacles he had to overcome, he had to learn how to deal with things he never expected. When his best friend “Proof” was murdered EMINEM hit rock bottom that is when his life took a turn for the worst, he almost overdosed……. How sad would it have been if we were to lose another “KING” in the music industry??? We didn’t though he pulled through! With a little help from his guardian angel PROOF! This is yet another thing that so many of us have to deal with in life, the loss of a close friend or family member who have been taken from this world far too soon. If you are ever in this situation just listen to what EMINEM says about Proof, “Instead of mourning your death, I’m gonna celebrate your life”. So powerful and something we should all remember!
We can learn so much from EMINEM about where he has been and what he has been through!! I think he would be such an amazing, inspiring person to meet. What he has been through we can all learn from. We can all make the world a better place one step at a time, but listening to someone like EMINEM along way will help so much! So if you are a victim of bullying, suffering from Trichotillomania, or struggling with anything else just know you CAN get through it. I just want to leave you with this from EMINEM and say this to yourself! “I’m not afraid to take a stand, Everybody, come take my hand, We’ll walk this road together through the storm whatever weather, cold or warm just lettin’ you know that you’re not alone, Holla if you feel like you’ve been down the same road”
I would love to hear who you would like to meet and why, please share your story with me!
